BFI’s Lubunu Platini, Wins Mikanda Awards (Comic Book Category)

, a Congolese and a member of the CAIB Working Group under the Beautiful Feet International (BFI) Kinshasa outreach, has won the prestigious “Mikanda Awards” in the comic book category.

Mikanda awards, is a big event who recompensed the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s authors and artists for their creative contributions in communicating for positive change and development in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  For the first edition, the Inter Kinois Agency, Mister Deo VUADI in partnership with the Brussels Wallony Center of Kinshasa.

Many Congolese’s authors were recompensed (Poetry, theatre, first book, lyrics, comic’s book strip …)

In this first edition of Mikanda Awards, many entrants were exceptional with their works, like the young and enterprising illustrator cum artist, Lubunu Platini, who won the best comics book award for this work: “L’OISEAU VOLANT” / “THE FLYING BIRD”.

The event took place at Kinshasa’s Brussels Wallony Center on in February last year.
